Who’s part of the A-Team! Nathalie Portman, Katie Perry, Mandy Smith, Sarah Jane Honeywell, Heather Mills, Sinead O Connor, Avril Lavigne, Darryl Hannah, Chrissy Hynde, the list is endless…. ….

and its not just the girls, just check out the boys…Brad Pitt, Mike Tyson, Prince, Joaquin Phoenix, Moby, Russell Brand, Carl Lewis, Woody Harrelson, Bill Clinton, Thom Yorke, Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Robin Gibb……..

Just what is this, the latest celebrity band line-up charity single? No, its not the latest Band Aid revival, it’s the roll call of famous people who follow a 100% plant based diet, a global A Team of healthy, planet conscious & ethically aware celebrities, and a very fine indication as to just how quickly this previously fadlike and unattractive lifestyle has now become the diet of choice for those in the know both sides of the Atlantic..

And where celebrities go, the rest of us follow, and the health benefits of a plant based lifestyle are spreading like wildfire as more and more people work out for themselves the positive effects of eating plant based food and shunning animal products.

Gone are the tired cliché ridden negative vegan stereotypes, and in their place comes the cool sassy in – the –  know health conscious eco friendly ethically evolved individual led by the likes of Brad and Nathalie. And if proof was ever needed that good news travels fast, just witness media savvy Russell and Katy’s recent conversion to a plant based lifestyle, announced through Twitter to millions.

With an abundance of plant based meats, cheeses, ice cream, milk, cakes, sweets, chocolates, ready meals and just about anything else you can think of, its never been easier to ditch the meat and dairy and take up a veggie option, But in case you are still struggling for choice and inspiration, a quick trip to one of Europe’s biggest veggie events in Brighton and Bristol in 2012 should soon quash any lingering doubts that plant based is best.

An incredible selection of product and a myriad of flavours and textures are on display and with entry free to the public and many of the samples free to taste it’s a particularly cheap day out or all. Loads of shopping bargains on food, bodycare and clothing are available, as well as plenty of cookery demos, talks and workshops to introduce you to new recipes, products, food experiences, ideas and concepts.

And when you’ve had enough of all that, there’s plenty of entertainment and a licensed bar to keep you happy, whilst you indulge in a bit of Clebspotting…… Celebrity vegans in Brighton are ten a penny, with the likes of Tim Booth from James, Jeremy from the Levellers and Paul McCartney’s ex Heather Mills all resident in Brighton in March (17th & 18th), whilst ex Massive Attack legend Mushroom, who is vegan may be spotted at Bristol in May (25th  – 27th), along with CBeebies star Sarah Jane Honeywell, BBC 2 Health Guru Janey Lee Grace, and one of the girls off Hollyoaks Going vegan – great for your skin, great for your health, great for your weight, great for the planet and great for the animals.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s an even better reason to go plant based – simply everyone’s doing it now, daarling, don’t you know?
