Finding Our Way – The New Book from  My great Friend and fellow vegan H. Louise Ashley.

Louise Ashley has become a good friend of mine. Her work is really moving and sincere. Her voice was made for her relaxation CD’s and her latest book Finding Our Way moved me so much that I didn’t want to put it down.

After reading Louise’s book I would not say go and buy a copy. I would say go and buy 5 copies and give them to friends and family – now!!

An author, poet and artist passionate vegan H. Louise Ashley spent 3 years researching and speaking to world leading experts as she is passionate about bringing awareness to us so we can all help to make the world a better place. She shares these insights in bite size snippets making it very easy to read – and difficult to stop reading!

Finding Our Way inspires us with incredible facts about animals, the planet, health, children and more.

Knowledge is power and this book is packed with information to help us make more informed choices.

Louise told me;

“We are all custodians of the Earth. With each action that we take, each purchase that we make, we either help people, animals and the environment to live more harmoniously in our interconnectedness or we help to condemn them to misery, pollution and possibly destruction.”

“With the human population standing at around 7 billion we have to become responsible and take care of our home the earth with the very actions that we take.”

Louise and her partner Jason have quite and incredible story too – Louise grew up in Nottinghamshire and studied art and design and after leaving college she worked as a lingerie designer.
They have lived on Jason’s small boat on the canal and  soon after this they moved into a tent on a farmer’s field.

They then bought a motor home and Jason started to sell his paintings from the side of the local canal and they saved enough money to go to Greece for a year travelling around the island of Kefalonia where Jason’s Grandfather came from.

Now Louise and Jason now live very happily in Totnes Devon with their beautiful daughter Limony, (daisy rose), Ashley- Liosatos who is nearly 1 ½ years old.

After World War 2 intensive farming methods were introduced creating even more cruelty and distress to animals.As most people consider themselves to be animal lovers it is shocking to find out what really goes on in the lives of animals around the world that people are unaware of. 2 out of 3 farmed animals are intensively reared.

What we eat and many of the products we use, come from the suffering of animals.

If the world moved towards a vegan diet we could could feed everyone 7 times over.

One child dies of hunger every 2-3 seconds.Approx. 1/3 of the worlds population is malnourished.1/3 of the worlds grain and 70% of the agricultural land is used to feed and rear farmed animals.

Eating less meat and dairy makes sense for improved health and helping to reduce the amount of animal suffering.By reducing the amount of farmed animals, we can create more land which can then be used to increase crops, the planting of trees and the creation of more wild life areas.


Children need to feel valued in their homes and in society, knowing that there is a place for them in the world to fulfill their potential and dreams.

The love and care parents give to their children is like putting money in their bank account for them to spend for the rest of their lives.

We have to encourage our children to think for themselves and ask questions. This means not bringing them up in an authoritarian way.

We all need to fill up our “Love Cup” everyday. We can do this by giving, being caring and compassionate to all life. Kindness, gentleness, forgiveness, compassion and love all help to fill up our love cup.


Meditation can be done quite easily. It can help to produce happy endorphins in the brain.

It helps us to renew, nourish and re- balance ourselves. Meditation has a way of quieten the nerves.

Feelings of compassion, peace, tolerance and contentment seem to grow by meditating. It can also help to connect to who we really are. Meditation can help us to manage and reduce stress.

Our Interconnectedness

When we consider, people animals and the environment in all our actions, then we are helping to create a more harmonious world for us all to live in.

There is enough for everyone, nature is bountiful, if we share and take care of the earth and her resources.
