Vegetarian Living Magazine – Karin Ridgers

Most delicious meal:

I have wanted to visit Veggie World for such a long time and it certainly was worth the day trip to Milton Keynes. The simply decorated restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday with the rest of the week taken up with deliveries and supporting charities.

We were blown away with the most amazing dishes nearly all of the menu is vegan too.

We loved the starters of crispy seaweed, Won Tons, Veggie Ribs and Veggie Chicken Skewers with gorgeous peanut sauce.

Salt & Pepper Aubergine was so tasty and the Crispy Aromatic Duck that we made into small pancakes was delicious.

We enjoyed a selection of amazing main courses and love the way that you can pick your ‘veggie meat’ and then chose what sauce or cooking style you fancy. With more than 100 choices you don’t need to eat the same dish more than once.

You can order on line and stock up your freezer – something I plan on doing soon and we will definitely be visiting Veggie World again!

Interesting place:

Get along to an open day ay Hopefield Animal Sanctuary this year and see the beautiful rescued animals. Set up by my friends Paula and Ernie Clarke who have sadly passed away and now taken over by new supporters. Even do some celebrity spotting as Leona Lewis is their new patron.

It’s quite funny as I have personally supported Hopefield for MANY many years. I started running veggie/ Viva! stalls there and spoke to people about being vegetarian. Funny (or sad perhaps) that so many visitors came to support the animals and then home and eat the same creatures.

I also supported Hopefield by supporting them with their PR (for free of course) I am so proud to have helped to gain them national coverage that raised £10,000’s for them. I also helped the land from being sold with the rather fab Russell Quirk.

We even had our sons birthday party there – about 80 people including all of Callum’s class friends supporting the animals and enjoying vegan food too :o)

New friend:

Benjamin or now I need to say Professor Zephaniah came to several of my veggie events years ago and we had a super laugh filming an interview for VeggieVision. We have chatted and emailed again recently and Lisa from Frys and I sent him a gift of the lovely vegan Fry’s range. I received such an amazing phone message from him saying he was overwhelmed and although the burgers are his favourites he has not tried the other products before and can’t wait!

Great book:

I was so pleased to meet the rather fantastic life coach Lynette Allen when doing the Loud Women show on BBC Essex – I have all of her books at home.

Her brand new book How to Coach a Woman is one is ideal if you are a Life Coach, thinking of becoming one or you if you who manage women in the workplace – or even at home. Improving and growing is vital and Lynette has a gift of understanding and helping others to make small shifts that really have a big impact.

I am really happy to work with Lynette too – she has made a big difference in my life and helped me through some challenges – do check her out!

Super shopping:

I just have to mention super half price shopping at VeggieVisionDating.com! I set this up as so many people said that they loved the sort of people who go to VeggieVision and wanted to meet them. And now I am pleased to let you know that finding love is half price. Please do sign up for free information and help us grow.

Best laugh:

We had a super time at this years Wetnose Awards – we had a great laugh talking with fellow veggie, actor and author Gary Webster. We mixed with the celebrities and spoke to amazing people who have dedicated their lives to helping animals. For more information please see our news and blog too.

Have fun!

Hugs and love
