Hi there

I love writing for Vegetarian Living magazine – the thing is that I need a double page spread at least for all of the veggie things I want to write about!

Please have a look at the PDF of this column here: Karin Ridgers column_July 2012 and remember to get your copy of the current edition today!

Most delicious meal:

When the 2nd oldest restaurant in London announces its vegetarian and vegan taster menu you know that something rather special is happening. Roux at the Landau is uber classy with service that is as impeccable as the food

Taster menus are new for us – 7 little courses with some canapés and sweets added in too.

The service is amazing – we enjoyed chatting to the staff who are so passionate and knowledge about food and make sure that everyone is having a wonderful and being looked after.

The venue is stunning although we felt relaxed at the same time.

When we were invited to meet the head chefs we jumped at the chance as you can see from the film footage and photos.

Wonderful people and great to know that they have recognized that there is a demand for non meat dishes and want to cater.

If you want to feel really special and don’t mind the top end of the price scale then book up for Roux at the Landau  and do make sure that you book your vegetarian or vegan taster meals so that you can simply sit back and enjoy!

For that something really special treat yourself to a beautiful dinner at Roux at the Landau.

Interesting place:

It’s got to be Bristol – and with thanks to the rather cool Tim Barford it’s now the capital of Veg Fests.

Get these Veg Fests in your diary for 2013 – Vegan food, brilliant music, likeminded people and the chance to meet the wonderful guys who bring us our veggie goodies too.

New friend:

Well I have been chatting with Jasmine Harman the really lovely presenter from A Place in the Sun.  She is away filming at the moment and tells me that she knows how to say “I am a vegetarian” in many languages – she has been veggie for over 30 years!

See Jasmine on Veggie Vision too.

Great book:

Ohhhh – I have picked up the new book from The Secret writer Rhonda Byrne – The Magic. It’s another I don’t want to put this down read and focuses on being grateful.

However I will just say that being grateful hasn’t felt right to me – I now prefer to use the word appreciative :O)

Super shopping:

I love saving money so when I heard that VeggieVision viewers also liked this I teamed up with the leaders in cashback and created www.veggievisioncashback.com – what could be better saving and earning money and knowing that VeggieVision TV is getting a little thank you at the same time!

Please do have a look and sign up for VVCashback – You can save £’s on all sorts of thinsg from insurance to holidays.

You can even earn £’s by taking part in short surveys, enter competitions and by telling others about the site.

Thanks to the support of some lovely VV viewers we have also had a big clear up of the site – always looking to improve so do let us know what you think!

Best laugh:

I was so pleased to hear from LA based life long vegetarian (and now vegan) Joanne Rose. She is a comedy actress and her episodes of Vegan 101 are all on VeggieVision TV. I have such a laugh when I watch them. The girl who has lost her friends on ‘Veg Book’, the woman who wont date a guy as his surname is Butcher, and how being vegan is “so yesterday”.

Brilliant! It’s important to laugh at ourselves too! Do have a look on her amazing clips on VeggieVision TV.

Have a great day!

Until next time – appreciate!
