New Friend

Jane Bishop the owner of The Walpole Bay Hotel was just wonderful when we stayed a few weeks back. A wonderful character who you will see again on Hotel Inspector soon with her ‘living museum hotel.’

Their wonderful story of a courting couple who skipped school as kids to look at the glamorous people enjoying their holidays at The Walpole. Over the years they saw it fading and overheard on a visit many years later that it was being sold. More challenges faced the couple however they are now the owners and have been for 17 years restoring and working hard to bring Margate back to glory too.

As Jane said to us the hotel is like “marmite” – with lots of celebrity fans and regulars from all over the world you will love it – or hate it!

We enjoyed the breakfast and cooking mushrooms and tomatoes fresh without butter was no problem and they also had soya milk for us too.

Super Shopping

Just loving our Planetbox! A super lunch box for kids and adults – made from stainless steel that will not leach toxic chemicals when in contact with food.

Callum is very proud as it comes with a cool mini ‘suitcase’ and he carried this around with him while we visited Margate – so ideal for the beach as well a school. It is an investment however better than keep buying lunchboxes that do not last.

Best Laugh

Taking time out and enjoying the British seaside. Go for a paddle in the sea despite the weather not being great and running around ‘PiratePark’ in Margate. Great to act like a kid!

No matter what time of year nothing is better than visiting a British seaside town – now wrap up warm, enjoy the sea air and remember to ask if the chips are cooked separately to the fish!!
